Mr MacDonald Plays Role of Peacemaker. British Official Wireless. (ReceiA-ed June 29. 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, June 28. At Lausanne Mr MacDonald, after a consultation Avith his colleagues, invited the French Premier and German Chancellor to meet him at his hotel. M. Ilerriot AA*as accompanied by the French Finance Minister, M. Germain j Martin, and Captain von Papen by the ! German Foreign Minister, Dr von Neurath. Secrecy is being maintained as to the j lines along Avhich the discussions developed, although it is assumed that Mr MacDonald and the other British MinAA'ere engaged in a further effort to effect an agreement in the FrancoGerman vieAvs. It Avas arranged that the meeting be resumed to-night.
