MEETING OF UNION.

Merivale Team Chosen to Visit Hokitika. The Management Committee of the Canterbury Rugby Football Union met last, evening, Mr A. E. M’Phail presiding. The New Zealand Union in a circular advised that it was proposed next year when sending out the school grants to place an order for a large number of New Zealand-made balls at satisfactory prices and to send these to the unions. The letter was received. The West Coast Union advised that the Westland Sub-Union had selected Merivale as a suitable club team to make the trip to Hokitika on July 30, Tom Robinson was granted leave of absence to play for the New Zealand Maori touring team.
