Kingsford Smith’s Tooth Brushes. SEQUEL TO ATLANTIC FLIGHT. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received June 29. 11.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, June 28. The trial lias begun in the City Court of a suit to recover 1229 dollars from the Fokker Aircraft Corporation by | Abercrombie and Fitch, clothiers, on j the plea that they equipped Sir Charles j Kingsford Smith and his crew Avith a 1 quantity of tooth brushes, razors and i combs folloAving their successful transAtlantic flight in June, 1930. It is revealed that Fokker backed the flight to the extent of 5000 dollars. The Aircraft Corporation denies that it authorised the purchase of personal equipment. SMITHY’S EXPLANATION. (Received June 29, 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, June 29. Sir Charles Kingsford Smith, when interviewed in Sydney, told the “ Sydney Sun ” that the “ New York Times ” arranged with Abercrombie and Fitch to supply neAv civilian outfits on the I completion of the flight. “ Aber- ! crcmbies agreed," he said, “on the i understanding that Ave handed over our ; flying kits to exhibit in their windows, J which Avas done."
