March 25, 26, 28—Otago Rifle Association’s annual championships, at Dunedin. April 2—Oakes Challenge Shield match, Christchurch v. Ashburton, at Ashburton. ## Cashmere Club. At the eighteenth annual meeting of the Cashmere Miniature Rifle Club the club captain, Mr J. L. Ragg, presided. The annual report showed that the club had had a most successful season in 1931. Besides winning the senior competition in the Christchurch Miniature Rifle Assc*ciation's winter tournament for the second season in succession, it has also won the New Zealand Miniature Rifle Association’s Tisdall Cup competition. A vote of sympathy was passed with Mr A. Tongue, the president of the club, who recently had an operation and is now' on the road to recovery. The election of officers resulted:—Patron, Mr W. S. The Christchurch Defence Rifle Club journeyed to Tai Tapu on Saturday afternoon to fire the final long-range competition, but owing to the high wind it was impossible tc* work the large targets. A short range sweepstake was held., with ten shots at 300 yards, and seven shots at 500 yards, the long-range competition being postponed until Saturday next. field, took the £IOO prize allotted to the winner of the King’s. This was Pavey’s fourth King's. Entries for the Otago Rifle Association's annual championships close this week. A splendd programme has been arranged and over £258 will be competed for during the meeting, which commences on Good Friday and concludes on Easter Alonday. A large number of Canterbury riflemen will be competing and the Ashburton, Christchurch and Timaru clubs are sending strong teams to contest the Challenge Shield. :: Riflemen will be pleased to learn that Air A. Tr-ngue, secretary of the Christchurcji Miniature Rifle Association, is now out of after an operation. PL Harries. E. Truman and H. Brake shot well last Saturday, when they returned 33 each at 500 yards under exceedingly bad conditions. Three Ashburton riflemen, D. F. Keir, C. Glassey and H. Cromie, won over £BO among therp, at the recent Trentham meeting. Now Brighton Ladies. The New Brighton Ladies* Outdoor Club fired its last competition shoot on the range, Breeze’s Road, on Saturday. Results were:—Women’s championship: Mrs Caldwell, 506, 1; Airs J. Buschl, 4 BS, 2. Aten’s championship: L. Ragg, 521, 1; F. Whitley, 511, 2. Club aggregate: Airs J. Buschl, 533 5-6, and Mrs H. M’Clelland, 533 5-6 (equal) 1. Aten: L. Ragg, 5331, and F. Whitley, 5331 (equal) I. A shoot-off will be held next Saturday. The S.AI.R.C. spoon, donated by the club captain, Aliss A. Puk, was won by Airs Caldwell and L. Ragg, and the Caldwell Trophy was won by Airs J. Buschl. The final of tire fifth competition was won by Airs A. Ball with 1331. F. Whitley, whose aggregate was 1321, was second, and L. Ragg, with 1311, was third. R.S.A. Club. The annual meeting of members of the It.S.A Aliniature Rifle Club was held on Alarch 9, Air J. Bassett presiding over a large attendance. The president reported on the activities of the club during the past year, and referred to the splendid effort of C. E. Farley in winning the New Zealand championship. He referred to the friendly matches held with the R.S.A. in Dunedin and Nelson.
