Gallops on Riccarton Tracks.
CHARMEUSE GOES FAST. Conditions were perfect for galloping when training operations were in progress at Riccarton this morning. With candidates for Trentham, Waimate and Westport in evidence, the tracks were fairly busy. The plough and the outside of the course proper were available. Grecian Prince used the No. 6 grass. Going off in a hurry, he ran his first three furlongs in 36 3-ssec and completed six furlongs in lmin 15 4-ssec. He went very attractively. On the Plough. Meprisant and Muff ran six furlongs in lmin 16 2-ssec. Five furlongs in lmin 4 l-ssec went dc-wn to Fleeting Glance and Rocket. Moorbird ran the first three of six furlongs in 37sec and the full trip in lmin I6sec. Maurena jc-ined in for the last half-mile. Ball Dress was well in front of Straightcourse at the finish of six furlongs in lmin 18 3-ssec. Minerval, Elude and Red Heckle were practically on terms at the end of seven furlongs, run in lmin 30 3-ssec. Tarquinius and True Shaft covered six furlongs in lmin 18 3-ssee. Charmeuse, with assistance over the last half-mile, ran six furlongs in lmin 15sec. She had a light boy in the saddle, but it was a smart effort. High Tor beat Proud Night over six furlongs in lmin 18 2-ssec. Dunraven was too good for Ringing Cheer over a fast-run five furlongs, the time being lmin 3sec. Don Jose did the last six of seven furlongs in lmin 16sec. Going easily, Pixie Gold ran the last five of six furlongs in lmin ssec. Night Recital did an easy three furlongs. Red Royal ran seven furlongs in lmin 31 2-ssec. Niggerhead joined ii? for the last six and they were together at the finish. Eclair was in front of Lucky Dive at the end of five furlongs in lmin 4 1-5 sec. A furlong further was run by ,c:-'nisrniarch in lmin 19 2-ssec. Metal Bird beat Silver Sight over half a mile in 51sec. Weatherly and Ma Belle Polly were 51 l-ssec over a simiArrowmir was in front of Wise Choice at the end of six furlongs in lmin IS 3-5 Course Proper. Ramo.
