In connection with the fire in <he “ Record ” newspaper office at Rangiora. the proprietor (Mr R. T. Logan) attributes the outbreak to incendiarism. Some hessian saturated with kerosene was found in the space between the old and new buildings, where the fire started. The stock and plant, with the exception of the linotype machine, which was covered for £4OO, were insured for i'SOO in the Royal Office.
