ASHBURTON CLUB.
(Special to the “ Star.”) ASHBURTON, May 5. The final of the Ashburton Bowling Club’s singles championship was played yesterday evening, when H. Higgins defeated J. C. C. M’Lachlan. The winner will represent the club In the competition for the Maddison Trophy, which will be played in Christchurch during the week. The finalists in the Allenton Club’s championship are J. Stevenson and J. Templeton, who will play on Monday evening. The winner will also compete for the Maddison Trophy.
