MATCH DELAYED. Inter-provincial Games at North Beach. After having spent the morning at Wilding Park and the Cashmere Club's courts waiting for the rain to cease, players in the interprovincial lawn tennis match between Canterbury and North #Ot ago found shelter at last and good playing conditions at the North Beach. Club's courts. The match was begun shortly after half three o’clock this afternoon, instead of eleven o’clock this morning, as was intended. In the interim one of the North Otago players, K. Bryan, was separated from the party and the manager of the team, Mr C. Mollison, took his place. The teams were:— North Otago—C. Mollison, F. Gallagher, A. Feathers. L. M’Kinnon, Misses D. Miller, D. Baikie, Mrs D. Borrie and Miss K. Weavers. Canterbury—H. A. Barnett, T. W. Patterson, H. Dymond, J. G. A’Court, Miss M. Wake, Mrs D. Macdonald, Miss E. Rudkin and Miss I. Poole. Results were:— MIXED DOUBLES. Miss I. Poole and Patterson heat Miss K. Weavers and Gallagher, 6-2, 6-2. Miss M. Wake and Barnett beat Miss Baikie and C. Mollison, 6-2, 6-3. 3VTINTOSH: SHTTELD. In the Al’lntosh Shield match played at Kalapoi this afternoon, Kaiapoi beat Rangiora by five games to nil.
