STUDENTS’ COMPETITIONS.

Madame Ottleo lias been fortunate in securing: as adjudicator for her students’ competitions on March 3 2 Mr Cordon Bryan, a distinguished visiting English musician, who has had a wide experience throughout the British Empire in work of this character. One of the most interesting sections will be one consisting of Mr Bryan’s own songs. The combined effort class gives young accompanists the opportunity to prove their capacity in that very difficult test for a pianist, the building up of a perfect blend between the voice of the soloist and the accompanist tinder the critical yet sympathetic judgment of a musician who is an expert and who has heard the world’s best. C'oiupctitors will also have the opportunity of appearing with a professional accompanist of very high calibre, Miss Lilian Harper, whoso work is well known, and of obtaining the stage experience which gives a singer poise and confidence. The wide choice of songs (no test pieces being set) will give the competitions all the interest and variety of a concert. The proceeds are in aid of the Central Belief Depot, all scholarships and prizes being donated by Madame Ottlce.
