Crack Australian Racing Driver Will Attempt To Shatter World Speed Record.

CAN “ WIZARD ” SMITH TRAVEL FASTER than any man has done before? With the Fred H. Stewart Enterprise, Australia’s premier motor racing driver will attempt to hurtle along the Ninety-Mile Reach at 300 miles an hour and thus break the existing land speed record, held by Sir Malcolm Campbell, by 55 miles an hour. Smith will use a Schneider Cup engine, identical with that which Campbell used, but improved at the factory. The car was built by Don Harkness, a brilliant Australian engined! - , and the driver of the car says it is the best job that has ever been built for an attempt on the record. It is claimed that Smith’s effort will he the first all-British attempt yet made.
