DECISION ADHERED TO.

Rev J. K. Archer Resigns

Pastorate.

The Rev J. K. Archer, deputy-Mayor, has decided to adhere to his decision to resign his pastorate at Colombo Street Baptist Church. The resignation was accepted with regret at a special meeting of the Church held last evening, to consider Mr Archer’s reply to the request that he should withdraw his resignation.

According to the conditions of Mr Archer’s engagement with the Church, he is obliged to give three months’ notice of his relinquishing the position, and this period will expire on January 31 next. The Church authorities have now decided to approach Mr Ascher with a view to rendering some honorary service, the proposal concerning which will be submitted to him.
