RUGBY CHAMPIONS.
Presentations to Boys at Hornby School. On Monday afternoon the president of the Canterbury Rugby Union, Mr A. E. M’Phail, accompanied by Mr W. Britten (vice-president), Mr L. Thompson (teachers’ representative on the Rugby Union), and Mr Allard (president of the Primary Schools’ Sports Association) visited the Hornby School for the purpose of presenting the medals won for the third time in succession by the team in the under thirteen years football competition. Mr M’Phail and Mr Allard praised the standard of .play shown by the boys. On behalf of the union, Mr M’Phail, also presented copies of Mr R. Masters’ ‘‘History of the 1924 All Blacks,” to L. Garret and P. Baker for their good allround play and their keen enthusiasm for the Rugby game. The head master (Mr F. E. O’Flynn) thanked the officials for attending that day, also for the medals. The following boys received medals:—L. Garrett (captain), M. Conway, R. M’Donald, R. Roberts, J. Smally and M. Thomas.
