BANKER’S DEATH OCCURS.

Well Known in Nelson Business Circles. Per Press Association. NELSON, December 14. The death occurred yesterday of Mr E. J. Allen, a retired bank manager. As manager of the local branch of the Bank of New Zealand, he was closely associated with the business development of the city. Joining the bank at Westport, Mr Allen, who was a son of Mr G. Allen, one of Wellington’s early settlers, was stationed at Greymouth, Hokitika, Kumara, Reef ton, Masterton, Wellington, Opunake, Feilding and New Plymouth. He came to Nelson in 1901. Mr Allen was in his eightieth year. He is survived by a widow and one son, Mr K. Alien, of the Bank of New Zealand at Featherston.
