The children attending St Mary’s Church Sunday School, Geraldine, were entertained at tea, when the Rev H. M. Cocks presided and on behalf of the scholars presented Mr R. H. Orbell with a silver-mounted walking stick as a mark of appreciation of Mr Orbell’s services as superintendent and teacher of the Sunday school during a period of thirty-six years. In a match, District High School v. Staff and Committee, the boys won by 36 runs—lll to 75. For the school C. Williamson 18, L. Ellis 17, R. Hayes 15 and Si. Ragg 10 made the best scores, and for the staff F. Turner 39 not out and C. Harper 13 reached figures.
