First Celebration in the Dominion. DAVIES—GOODGER. At St Luke's Church, Manchester Street, recently, the first Toe H wedding in the Dominion was celebrated. The bride was Alma Phillipa, only daughter of Mr Goodger, Christchurch, and the bridegroom, Reginald Harold, second son of Mrs Davies, also of Christchurch. The ceremony w as performed by the Rev O. W. Williams, Toe H Padre. Mr Eric Lomas presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by Mr Walter Kerr (Dominion Registrar of Toe H), wore an ankle-length frock of ivory marocain modelled on fullyflared lines, finished with a white coatee in bolero style. Her embroidered veil was held in place by a circlet of orange blossom. She carried a beautiful bouquet of sweet peas, rcses and fern. Miss Mona Beardsley, the bridesmaid, wore a frock of peacock blue georgette with floral skirt and sleeves and a blue turned up hat to match. She carried a bouquet of roses and fern. The bridegroom (Job Master of Toe H) was attended by Mr Max Ogilvey, also a member of Toe H. The reception was held in the Toe H rooms, Chester Street, where the bridegroom’s mother received the guests, wearing a smart black silk ensemble, the coat being touched with white, and a black straw hat with an ostrich feather at one side. She carried a bouquet of carnations. Later when the bridal couple left, Mrs Davies was wearing a French grey costume, a fox fur, with a grey and white felt hat worn back off the face. ’
