CANCER TREATMENT.

Prince Sees New Fluorescent Ray at Work. DOCTOR’S EXPLANATION. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received November 26, 8.55 a.m.) LONDON, November 25. The Prince of Wales, while visiting the Royal Northern Hospital at Efolloway, watched a patient undergoing the new fluorescent ray cancer treatment, which Dr Gouldesbrough afterwards explained. He told the Prince that he was convinced that the treatment, which he had originated only four years ago, had immense possibilities, and was now being tried in Australia, Canada and India. “What about radium?” asked the Prince, who was surprised when he was told that it no longer was so popular with doctors.

In the X-ray department the Prince saw the bones of his own hand, and also a nurse’s heart beating behind a fluorescent X-ray screen.
