SCHOOLS’ RUGBY.
Final Round of Season’s Competition. WINNERS IN SEVEN GRADES. The eleventh and final round of the Christchurch secondary schools’ Rugby football competition was played yesterday, the majority of the matches being evenly contested. Results:— Second Grade. Boys’ High School A defeated Christ’s College by 13 points to 3. Mr I. 11. Skipworth was referee. St Bede’s College forfeited to Boys’ High School B. The match between Technical High School and St Andrew’s College was not played. West Christchurch District High School had the bye. The result of the competition is still indefinite for, although Boys’ High School A have a lead of one point, Technical have still to play St Andrew’s and, if they win this game, will be level with Boys’ High School A, each team having lost one game. The points are as follows: Boys' High School A 8, Technical 7, St Andrew’s 4£, West Christchurch 31s, Boys’ High School B 3, Christ’s College 2, St Bede’s 1. Third Grade. Christ’s College A defeated Technical High School by 11 points to 6 (Mr T. W- C. Tothill). St Andrew’s College forfeited to Boys’ High School A. Boys’ High School B forfeited to Christ’s College B. This competition has been won by Boys’ High School A who, with the exception of a loss to Technical and a drawn game with St Andrew’s, nave won all their matches. The final positions are: Boys’ High School A 81 points, Technical 71, Christ’s College A 5, Boys’ High School B 41, St Andrew’s 31, Christ’s College B 1. Fourth Grade. Boys’ High School B defeated Christ’s College B by 18 points to nil (Mr J. Prosper). Technical High School defeated Boys’ High School A by 5 points to 3 (Mr L. R. R. Denny). Christ’s College A drew with West Christchurch District High School, each side scoring three points (Mr H. J. Mackie). The finish 'of this competition has ✓St n . a most Peculiar one, three teams (Christ’s College A, West Christchurch and Technical) being level for first place. Of these, the first two have each lost a couple of games and also drawn on two occasions, whilst Technical have been defeated three times. The points are as follows: Christ's College A 6, Technical 6, West Christchurch 6. Christ’s College defeated West Christchurch District High School by 19 points to 3 (Mr H. E. Dent). Technical A, with the exception of a loss to West Christchurch District A, have won all their matches. The final positions are:—Technical A 9 points, West Christchurch A 8, Technical B s*.
