ROAD RACING PRIZES.

Athletic and Cycling Union. The North Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Athletic, Cycling and Axemen’s Union met last evening, Mr W. J. Walter presiding. The secretary of the Christchurch Cycling and Athletic Club wrote stating that his club had made a donation of £1 Is for the first financial club member to finish in the Waimate-Chrisfc-chur-rh road race. The Doyleston Athletic Club sent a donation of £1 Is. The Dunsandel Sports Association wrote enclosing a donation of £2 2s. The New Zealand Union wrote stating that it approved of the application for the South Island toad championship to be granted to the Southbridge Club. It also approved of the application of the Christchurch Cycling and Athletic Club to hold a fifty-mile Canterbury road championship race. The secretary of the New Plymouth Centre wrote stating that, the “Around the Mountain ” (Mount Egmont) race would be held definitely on October 24 The first prize would be at least £25 cash, a bicycle and a medal, and the fastest time £ls cash and a bicycle. The secretary reported that the centre competition had been won bv Mrs F C Vaughan, Christchurch.
