ANNUAL BALL.

Government Buildings and Pujblic Trust. SUCCESSFUL EVENING.

When the combined staffs of the new Government Buildings and the Public Trust get together they represent a large number of “red tape” departments, the members of which appear to be on very friendly terms. This was particularly noticeable last evening at the Winter Garden, where the seventh annual ball of the combined staffs was held. A large committee was responsible for the arrangements, and the members had spared no efforts in an endeavour to make the evening the success it has been in past years. In this they did not fail for there was a splendid attendance and from the start the dance was an unqualified success. Several attractive items were arranged for the entertainment of the guests. They were: Solo dance by Miss Edna Gill, Rhapsody in Blue (The Blue Danube) by six of Miss Gill’s pupils, an exhibition of ballroom dancing by Miss Evelyn Edgar and Mr W. J. Wallace. The Bailey-Marston Orchestra supplied the music. *- -

The committee comprised the following:—Misses Dorothy Wilkins (Pensions Department), Julie P. Brosnahan (State Fire Department), Lita Clark (Treasury Department), Ruby E Walker (State Fire Department) , Messrs J. B. Jackson (Public Works Department), L. T. Bullen (State Fire Department),, secretary.
