ROSEHILL MEETING. SYDNEY, August 15. The Rosehill meeting was held to-day. The principal events resulted as follows : (JARLINGFORD HANDICAP, of 200 sovs. One mile. DOVE SONG, Mr J. H. Jefferd’s b g, by Hunting Song—Mandolin, 4yrs, 9.3 l JOHN BUCHAN, Mr P. H. Osborne’s b h, by Buchan—Motherwort, aged, 9.8 2 WARNETON, Mr W. J. Carroll’s br g, by Baverstock—Zenta, 6yrs, 8.1 3 Won by a neck. Chide was among the fifteen starters, but though he was finishing fast he was unable to make up his lost ground. FLYING HANDICAP, of 200 sovs. Six furlongs. AMMON RA, Mr C. Sheath’s b g, by Limond—Hyades, 3yrs, 8.4 (M. M’Carten) 1 LEGISLATOR, Mr R. Miller’s br h, by Legionnaire—Winsome Queen, 4yrs, 8.0 (Johnston) 2 SUNLIT REEF, Mr J. Arden’s b m, by Great Barrier—Sunny Brae, 4yrs, 7.7 (Weiss) 3 Fifteen horses started. Won easily. Time—lmin 14see. Movie Star, who was sore, ran well in the Three-Year-Old Handicap but was unplaced. Spearshot fell in the Rosehill Handicap and broke a shoulder. He was destroyed.
