NEW ZEALAND CUP.
Conditions Settled. The committee of the Canterbury Jackey Club has settled the conditions for the New Zealand Cup, to be run in November. The stake will be £IOOO, a cup valued at £SO, with £950 in cash; the second horse to receive £2OO and the third horse £IOO from the stake. The condition for a maximum weight of 9.6, which has been included for several years, has been deleted and there will be no restriction this year on the weight with which the handicapper may start the handicap. As was the case last year, a horse winning a race of the value of £3OO or over or races of the collective value of £SOO or over, may be re-handicapped r but no horse’s weight may be increased beyond weight-for-age by a re-handicap. Nominations will close on Friday of next week, August 28.
