There was an attendance of about sixty electors at a public meeting arranged by the Christchurch Labour Representation Committee, and held at Rangiora last night, when the Rev J. K. Archer and Mr C. Mr Williams dealt principally with the question of interest charges-, claiming that a universal reduction in the rates was necessary and would be beneficial to everyone. Mr Archer spoke on the lines of his address at Kaiapoi last week. Both speakers received an attentive hearing, and were accorded a vote of thanks. Mr Archer saicl that the Labour Representation Committee was anxious to know' whether it was possible to establish a branch of the party in Rangiora and to ascertain if there was any desire to run a Labour candidate for the ITurunui electorate.
