SKATING PARTY.

Taking advantage of the fact that many of their friends were in Christchurch for the race week festivities. Miss Elena Helmore, of Timaru, and Miss Chrystobel Bowen arranged a happy skating party at the Olympia Rink last evening. Great merriment was caused by the antics of the amateur skaters, while the more accomplished devotees of the sport enjoyed to the full the pleasures of the evening Those present included: —Mr and Mrs F. Cordner and Neil Rattray (Waimate), Misses Janet Studholme, Anne Cooper, Agatha Upham, Catherine Johnston, Diana and Sylvia Orbell (Timaru), Patricia Ronalds, Peggy Orbell, Cara and Nona Pinckney (Southland), Patricia Powrie. Phyllis and 'Adine Acton-Adams, Peggy Williams, Joyce Edgar-Jones (Timaru), Betty Guthrie, Pruedence Wynn-Wil-liams, Airini Brewer, Nance and Joan Gard’ner, Pauline Kitto, Maude Kitto.
