The bi-monthly meeting of the Canterbury Presbyterian Sunday School Union was held in the Berwick Street Sunday School on Tuesday. The Rev Warnock and Mr Hitt offered prayer, and a number of schools answered the roll call. It was reported that the annual meeting of the union would be held at St Paul’s School on Tuesday, October 13. The speaker for the evening was Mr De Berry, head master of West Christchurch School, who gave an address, his subject being, “ What teaching means.” After the meeting the Berwick Street teachers provided supper.
