CHARGE OF PERJURY.
Man and Woman Before New Plymouth Court.
Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUUTH, August 12. Alleging that they had been influenced to make false statements on oath by threats that their throats would be cut, Ada Ridley and William Edward Walker admitted in the Police Court that they gave perjured evidence in a divorce suit in February last. They had sworn that they had seen respondent and co-respondent in compromising circumstances and living as man and wife. Both accused were committed to the Supreme Court for trial.
Action was taken at the instigation of the Solicitor-General.
