SECONDARY SCHOOLS.

Tenth Round of Matches. Matches were continued in the Christchurch secondary schools’ Rugby football competition yesterday, when the tenth round of games was set down for decision in all grades. This round should have completed the competition in the second, third, fourth and fifth grades; but, owing to the return match between the first fifteens of Christ’s College and Boys’ High School, a number of matches were postponed. With the exception of the fifth grade, which has been definitely completed, the final results are not available. In the lightweight, section, seventh grade to tw'elfth 1 grade, there is one more round to be played. Yesterday’s results were as follows: Second Grade. No games took place. The final issue appears to rest between Technical High . School and Boys’ High School A, each , of whom have won seven matches out of the eight that they have played. Third Grade. The postponed match between Boys’ High School A and St Andrew’s College ] has now taken place, resulting in a win for Boys’ High School B by 9 points to . nil. Mr C. E. Iversen was referee. No other games have taken place and, owing to three postponed matches, it is impossible to announce the result. This, however, appears to lie between Boys’ High School A and Technical High School, each of whom have 7jJs points. Fourth Grade. Technical High School defeated Boys’ High School A by 5 points to 3. Mr, L. R. R. Denny was referee. The remainder of the matches were postponed. Technical High School are at present leading with 6 points. Christ’s College A and West Christchurch District High School both have s?j points and have yet to play each other in the second series of matches. Fifth Grade. Technical High School defeated New Brighton, District High School by 8 points to 6. Mr C. M. Harris was referee. West Christchurch District High School defeated St Andrew’s College by 10 points to nil (Mr C. R. Tilley). Boys’ High School B forfeited to Boys’ High , School A and Christ’s College B forfeited to Christ’s College A. St Bede’s College had the bye. This round completes the competition, the winning ! team being Technical High School, who | have gone through the season uhdefeat- ! ed. The final positions are:—Technical { High School 9 points. Boys’ High School j A 6, West Christchurch District High ; School 5, New Brighton District High School Centered competition late) 41, St Bede’s College 4, St Andrew’s College 4, Christ’s College A 3?., Christ’s College B 2 h. Boys’ High School B tj. Sixth Grade. The postponed match between St Andrew’s College and Boys’ High School B has taken place, resulting in a win for Boys’ High School B by 13 points to 3. , Air E. R. Technical High School A defeated West Christchurch District High School by 16 points to 5 (Mr G. M. Keys). The game between Christ’s College and St Andrew’s College was not played. Boys’ High School had the bye. The postponed match between West Christchurch District High School and St Andrew’s College has now taken place, resulting in a win for West Christchurch District High School by 6 points to 3. Mr C. R. Tilley was referee. Tenth Grade. Technical High School drew with St Bede’s College, each side scoring 6 points (Mr C. M’C. Harper). West Christchurch District High School defeated Boys’ High School by 6 points to 3 (Mr D. W. Bain). Cathedral Grammar School had the bye. Eleventh Grade. Boys’ High School defeated St Bede’s College by 14 points to nil (Mr A. L. M. Perry). Technical High School A defeated West Christchurch District High School by 16 points to nil (Mr .1. T. Kidson). Christ’s College forfeited to Technical High School B. Twelth Grade. Technical High School B defeated West Christchurch District High School B by 23 points to nil (Mr D. B. Chamberlain). Christ’s College forfeited to Technical High School A. The game between West Christchurch District High School A and Boys’ High School was not played. Seven-a-side Tournament. Owing to the fact that the date was not suitable to several of the schools it has been decided that it will not be advisable to hold the secondary schools seven-a-side tournament which was mooted for next Wednesday. In eonsequence the eleventh round of matches will then be played in the light-weight section of the competition, whilst the opportunity will, no doubt, be taken to get off the various open grade matches which were held over from the tenth round (played yesterday).
