Swan's Invention.
To the Editor. Dear Sir,— Referring to a statement made in yesterday’s “ Star,” I think it is time the general public noted that Edison had nothing whatever to do with the invention oi the incandescent electric lamp. This was invented by (Sir! J. W. Swan (incidentally a Britisher). Edison later improved on the filament of Swan's lamp, just as others, later again in their turn, made further improvements. It was the invention of the phonograph which wa> Edison's and made him famous. —I am. etc. P.Q.M.F.
