NIAGARA left Auckland yesterday for Sydney, where she is due on August 15. MAUNGANUI left San Francisco on August 5 for Sydney, via Papeete, Rarotonga and Wellington. Due at Wellington on August 24; leaves on August 25. VENTURA, from Los Angeles, is due at Auckland on August 14. She leaves the same day for Sydney. ISLANDS SERVICES. TOFUA left Auckland on Monday for Fiji, Tonga and Samoa. WAIPAHI is due at Auckland to-day from Rarotonga. HIKURANGI will be despatched from Auckland on Friday for Norfolk Island. MAUI POMARE arrived at Niue Island on Saturday from Apia. Left Niue Island on August 9 for Dunedin, Lyttelton, Wellington and Auckland. Due Dunedin August 17. TEES will load at Lyttelton about Friday for the Chatham Islands. SHIPPING NOTES. BREEZE loaded at Lyttelton yester-

day and was despatched for Wellington, Pic-ton and Wanganui last evening. STORM is expected at Lyttelton tomorrow from Timaru to load for Wellington, Picton and Wanganui. ICANN a, from Westport, via Bluff KaPONGA will unload trade and bunker coal at Lyttelton on Saturday from Westport. The vessel returns to the West Coast on completing discharge. WAIPIATA is expected at Lyttelton on Friday from Bluff, Dunedin and Timaru to load for Wellington and Auckland. WAIMARINO will make a call at Lyttelton on August 18 on her way from Wellington to Dunedin. The vessel arrived at Auckland yesterday from Picton. KUKU loaded at Lyttelton yesterday for Wellington, Nelson and Motueka. HOLMDALE loaded at Lyttelton for Wellington and Wanganui yesterday and left for the north in the afternoon. FOXTON is due from Foxton to-mor-row with cattle. On discharging, the vessel will lie up for overhauling. FOOLTA, due here from Dunedin, via ports, on August 20, will load for Napier and Gisborne. WINGATUI arrived to-day from Portland, via Auckland and Wellington. She proceeds to Dunedin this evening and returns here via ports on August 20 to load for the north. OPIHI, after loading at Lyttelton yesterday, made her departure for Wellington, Nelson and New Plymouth. The vessel is scheduled to return here on August 21 to load for the same ports. CANOPUS left Auckland last evening for Westport. TASMAN AND PACIFIC. GOLDEN CROSS, which left Los Angeles on August 1 for Auckland, is due at her destination on August 27. She will also discharge at Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. LAUREL is scheduled to leave Auckland for San Francisco on Monday. WAINUI was expected to leave Wellington last night for Melbourne. WAIKOUAITI arrived at Lyttelton today from Dunedin to continue unloading of general Australian cargo, transhipments and coal from Newcastle. She leaves Lyttelton on Saturday for OVERSEA VESSELS. CORINTHIC is scheduled to leave London to-day for Wellington and Auckland. Due at Auckland on September 21. TAMAROA leaves Southampton on September 11 for Wellington and Auckland. Due at Auckland on October 14. AUSTRALIND leaves New York on August 22 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. Due at Auckland September 30. CORNWALL will leave Liverpool on August 15 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. Due Auckland on September 19. HERMINIUS, from Liverpool, is due at Auckland on Friday, and Lyttelton, via Wellington, about August 26. KARAMEA is expected here on August 19 from London direct. PORT ALMA left New York on July '3O for Auckland, Gisborpe, Wellington, New Plymouth, Lyttelton, Timaru and Dunedin. Due at Auckland on September 7. PORT GISBORNE, from London, is due at Wellington on August 22. She completes unloading at Auckland.

PURIRI, now discharging New York cargo at Auckland, will leave that port to-morrow for Wellington and Lyttelton. Due at Lyttelton early next week. TEMERAIRE, from Lisbon, via South Africa and Australia, is due here on Friday, via Wellington, to discharge general and timber. TONGARIRO, which left Liverpool on July 26 for Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin, is due at Auckland on September 2. T AINU I leaves Lyttelton to-day for Port Chalmers, Bluff. Timaru, Wellington and Auckland. To sail from Auckland on September 2 for Southampton and London, via Panama. CANADIAN TRANSPORTER. Canadian Transporter sailed from Brisbane at 5 p.m. on August 8 for New York, Boston, and Montreal. She left Dunedin on July 18 for Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, after discharging and loading in New Zealand. CANADIAN CRUISER LEAVES PANAMA. Canadian Cruiser, which left Dunedin on June 11 for New York, Boston and Montreal, via Australia, arrived at Panama on August 6, and sailed again the following day in continuation of her voyage. PERSONAL. Mr A. S. Ewan has joined the Tofua as chief engineer, relieving Mr P. E. Brewer for holidays. Mr A. E. Falla has joined the Niagara as fourth engineer, relieving Mr D. R.
