ASSOCIATION GAME.

Meeting of Management Committee. The Management Committee of the Canterbury Football Association met last evening; present—Messrs G. Dickinson (chairman), G. Brown, F. Wade, A. W. Sellers, A. Robertson, J. Cawtheray, J. Lindley, J. F. O’Brien, J. E. Foote, F. Bennett and C. E. Keys. The New Zealand Council wrote stating that the Chatham Cup semi-final, Seacliff (Dunedin) v. Nomads (Christchurch) had been set down for decision at English Park, Christchurch, on Saturday next. A recommendation from the New Zealand Association that the match between Otago and Canterbury for the Association Trophy be played at Dunedin on August 29 was adopted. The date for the Chatham Cup final was advanced to September 5. Mr Dickinson was appointed manager of the team to visit Dunedin. The following matches were set down for decision on Saturday next, matches to start at 1.30 p.m., except where otherwise stated:— Chatham Cup semi-final—Seacliff v. Nomads, English Park, 3 p.m. Senior A—Thistle v. Marists, Spreydon No. 1; Rangers v. Western, English Park. Senior B—St Albans v. Western, Richmond; Sumner v. Technical Old Boys, Ensor’s Road No. 1; Lyttelton v. Kaiapoi. Junior—Marist v. Rangers, Hagley No. 1; Western v. Villa, Hagley No. 2; Technical B v. Technical A, Hagley No. 3; Thistle v. It was reported at a meeting of the New Zealand Football Association this evening that a net loss of £3O had been incurred on the Football Association Trophy match, Wellington v. Otago. was decided to advise that August 29 would be suitable. It was decided that the South Island final of the Chatham Cup should be played at Christchurch on August 15. The teams will be Nomads and Seacliff. A further challenge was received from Manawatu for the Brown Shield and this was referred to South Auckland, The Auckland Football Association advised that the protest by Ponsonby, alleging that short time had been played in a Chatham Cup game had been discussed with a view to preventing a recurrence. The association suggested the appointment of official timekeepers in important games, so that the referees would not need to be making constant reference to their watches towards the close of a game. The secretary was instructed to reply that such a course would be contrary to the laws of the game.
