MINIATURE RIFLE MEETING HELD.

MANY TEAMS COMPETE IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP

The Christchurch Miniature Rifle Association fired its junior and President's grade championships on Saturday. There were good entries in the President’s grade, but the entries in the junior grade were poor, the teams not responding to a good programme. The following are to be congratulated on their good work:—Messrs I/. Pimm, A. .1. Beavcn, ,S. Williams, E. Whitford, T. Davie (chairman of committee). F. Lightfoot, S. Stephens and R. Neill. Following are the results:— Junior Championship. TEAMS SHOOT (four men in a team), two optional sighters, eight counting shots, two on each hull.

In the shoot-off for the cup presented bv the association A. Bruning (Ford’s)' won with 79. E. Fanning (Railway) and L. Miller (Cashmere) scored 157 and took 10s each. For the prize presented bv the association for the highest lady scorer in the Grand Aggregate Miss Corner (Brighton) and Mrs Bowley (Ward’s) tied with 3 56, and in the shoot-off Mrs Bowley with 77 as against Miss Corser s 0 6 won the trophy.

WINTER TOURNAMENT. The Christchurch Miniature Rifle Association has completed its fifteenth week’s matches in the winter tournament. Targets judged by the committee resulted as follows: D.
