TO-DAY’S RECIPE.

ALMOND FINGERS. Two ounces almonds. Mb flour. Tib butter. 1 e 221 teaspoon baking powder. 1 tablespoon sugar. A few drops vanilla. Tib icing sugar. Rub butter into flour well, then add sugar and baking powder, and make into a paste with yolk of egg, mixed with a tiny drop of milk. Roll out into thin paste. Take half white of egg and beat to a stiff froth, then add icing sugar, spread thinly over the paste. Chop almonds very finely, and sprinkle over icing. Cut in fingers and bake a light brown in a moderate oven. Add a few drops of vanilla to the icing.
