EXCELLENT PROGRAMME.
The Theatre Royal this week presents a programme offering varied entertainment, but all of it good. The principal picture is an exceptionally good British film, dealing with an episode in the career of the great detective of fiction. £»nerJock Holmes. A further feature which enjoys the greatest popularity is the turn put on by Joy and Lazzerorii, who■ perform sensational feats on roller skates. ‘'The Sleeping Cardinal ” allows Arthur Wontner to.display a most captivating Sherlock Holmes. The picture flows on its way without a break in the excitement. The plot unfolds, becoming more and more absorbing, till the surprising and dramatic climax is reached. As Holmes, Arthur Wontner gives a really great performance. The part of Dr Watson is taken with no less distinction by lan Fleming, and the Inimitable Minnie Rayner succeeds well as Mrs Hudson. As an extra attraction, the first instalment of a thrilling serial is screened.
