WOMEN’S AUXILIARY OF R.S.A. HAS MEETING.
The Women’s Auxiliary of the Christchurch Returned Soldiers' Association, w’hich assists in connection with the activities of the association’s Benevolent Fund, met this week, Mrs 11. T. J. Thacker presiding. There also were present: Mesdames A. Morten, A. Rose, J. S. Kelly. IL A. Bishop and Misses Cuthbert (2) and Rogers. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames J. I. Royds and A. J. Benzie. It was decided to hold a bridge afternoon on Tuesday, August 18, and preliminary arrangements were made in connection with the dance to be held in the Winter Garden early in September. A sub-committee, consisting of Mesdames A. Rose and A. J. Benzie and the secretary (Miss M. Cuthbert), was set up to complete the arrangements for the dance. The president, in expressing the hope that both, functions would be well attended, said that exceptionally heavy demands were being made on the association’s Benevolent Fund and financial assistance was urgently needed.
