CHILDREN’S FANCY DRESS PARTY AT OPAWA
On Thursday evening-, at the Opawa School, a successful fancy dress party was held, there being a large attendance of parents, scholars and friends. The children were divided into three divisions, and the various types of dress and make-ups were particularly striking and original. Mrs Bileliff and Mrs Sage were the judges. The following is the prize list:— Infants—Best fancy dress, girls: Blossom Adcock (Shepherdess) 1, Beryl Lawrence (Blue Fairy) 2. Most original, girls: Isobel Cockerell (Butch Girl) 1, Joyce Bisir.an (Harem Girl) 2. Best poster or paper: Margaret Hart (Edmond’s Baking Powder) 1, Joyce Pease (Old English Lavender) 2. Best fancy costume, boys: W. Jardin (Indian in Khaki) 1, D. Fox (Indian in Red Collar) 2. Most original, boys: Newton Candish (No Striking) 1, Allan Fox (Sailor Boy) 2. Best poster, boys: T. Keats (Three Castles) 1, R. Iveats (Players, Please!) 2. Standards 1., 11. and lll.—Best fancy dress, girls: Alison Logan (Victorian) 1, Pat Jarden (Red Riding Hood) 2. Most original, girls: Ngaire Weekes (Paint Box) l, Ray Jacobs (Doll) 2. Best poster or paper: Yvonne Watson (Fairy Dyes). Best fancy, boys: Mirvyn Fearnley (Cowboy) 1, Neill Hood (Robin Hood) 2.
