The fortnightly social of the Canterbury Caledonian Society was held at the Caledonian ffall on Wednesday, and was attended by a good number of members- and friends. The president (Mr R. A. Malcolm) occupied'the chair and was supported by Mr W. Edginton, vice-president, and Mr F. O. Neate, director. Fourteen new members were elected, bringing the total of new members for the season up to 113. A programme was provided by Messrs B. r-ure and W. Edginton, and the following contributed items:—Selections by the society’s pipe band; song, Mr Xeil Down; song. Miss Greenfield; recitation, Mr R. Foster; fancy dance, Miss Beryl Lysatt: song. Miss Bilcliff; sworas. Miss E. Richards; song, Mr Bracey Wilson; seann triubhais. Miss Hazel Neil; song. Miss Frazer; banjo selection, Mr W. East; Irish Jig, Master B. Wakefield; humorous item. Mr R. Malcolm; Highland Reel, Misses E Richards, H. Neil, J. Fraser, and Master B. Wakefield. The accompanist for the evening was Mr G. C. Russell. After the concert a dance was held to the music of Mr E. Jackson’s orchestra.
