STUDENT CHRISTIAN CAMP AT BRIGHTON.

At least once in each University session the Canterbury College branch of the Student Christian Movement holds a week-end camp. The second one this year began last night When over 40 students went down to South Brighton to spend the week-end there at the Presbyterian Social Service House on the corner of Pitt and Beatty Streets. They are under the supervision of Mrs West- 'atson, the camp mother.

Since many students had to come in this morning for lectures or this afternoon for sport, the timetable has been arranged to suit. There are no camp activities on the programme to-day until the evening, when there will be a camp fire. A series of addresses began last night when Mr J. Johnson, of the tutorial staff of the W.E.A., spoke on “Why I am in the Student Christian Movement.” To-morrow, at 2.45 p.m., Professor J. Shelley will lecture on the subject “Psychology and Sex,” while in the evening the speaker will be Bishop West-Watson. Apart from these lectures there will be discussion groups, and a special service to-morrow morning. Visitors are invited to the camp tomorrow afternoon, when a number of students, unable to attend the full time, will be present. Special invitations have also been issued to members of the college staff.
