A FINE PICTURE.

One of the most famous melodramas of the end of the nineteenth century, “ East Lynne,” has been reproduced as a talking picture. This film is being shown at Crystal Palace. Extreme care has obviously been exercised by the director, Mr Frank Lloyd, in selecting the east. The choice of Ann Harding as Isabel was probably the finest that could be made. The settings of the picture are on a lavish scale. A fine mansion with spacious lawns is used for the English settings, and the flashes of life in Vienna and the siege of Paris convey a sense of realism. The supporting pictures comprise an excellent news film, which includes views of the visit of the Prince of Wales to South America.
