PAPANUI MAN DIES AFTER ACCIDENT.
KNOCKED DOWN BY CAR IN HARE WOOD ROAD. Robert Dalmer, a married man, aged fifty-six, of 70, St James’ Avenue, died in the Christchurch Hospital at 11.30 last night from injuries received when he was knocked down by a car early on Saturday evening in Harewood Road. He was admitted to the Hospital at seven o’clock on Saturday evening, gravely injured. His left leg was fractured, and his right arm was injured. An inquest was opened at the Hospital this morning, before Mr E. D. Mosley, Coroner, when evidence of identification was heard. Sergeant Wolfendale represented the police. A post-mortem examination was ordered and the inquest was adjourned sine die.
