LODGE MEETING.

Tl?e fortnightly meeting of the Anchor Lodge, U.A.O. Druids, was held in the Druids’ Hall, Woolston, last Tuesday evening, Arch Druid Brother Clark presiding over a good attendance. Those present stood in silence in respect to the memory <of the late Brother John Hobson, a very old member of the lodge. A motion was passed donating £5 5s to the Druids’ Relief Fund, organised by the Grand Lodge of the North Island, for the relief of brothers affected by the recent earthquake in the Hawke’s Bay district. An invitation was accepted to visit the Oak of Sydenham Lodge for the purpose of doing honour to and presenting a Past District President’s collar to P.D.P. Brother A. Williams. P.A. Brother Everest reported on attending the funeral of the Jate Brother J.. Hobson, stating that a large number of Druids were present, and that the Druidic service was read at the graveside by Brother Rhodes. P.D.P. Brother L. Champ reported attending a meeting of the Friendly Societies’ Card Association, and asked the lodge to enter teams in the coming competitions. One candidate was initiated into the Order by the Arch Druid, assisted by the officers aiid members present. The Arch Bards reported favourably on the health of various sick brothers. The delegates to the Grand Lodge session, held on March 5, gave a resume of the business transacted, and stated that the position of the Order in Canterbury was very satisfactory, both numerically and financially. Accounts and sick benefits amounting to £l2 Is 8d and one maternity claim were passed for payment. A welcome was accorded the Past Grand President, Brother J. Fisher, who gave’ an able address on 'the constitution of the Order.
