BANDS ASSOCIATION FOR N.Z. IS FORMED.

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON. March 31 The bodies controlling the North and South Island bands decided at a meeting at Wellington to amalgamate and a new organisation, the New Zealand Brass Rands’ Association, has been established with headquarters at Wellington. The agreement forming the bands merger provides for alternative North and South Island contests. Assets and liabilities are merged and equal. representation agreed to. The new organisation taices over the liability for the balance due to the Christchurch Band Memorial. It has been decided to hold the next annual carnival at Wellington. Dr H. T 1 Thacker, Christchufch, has been elected patron; Mr H. D. Bennett, Wellington, president; Mr J. G. Osborne, secretary. An executive committee of five members from each island has been appointed.
