Dr Thacker stated yesterday that he had definitely made up his mind to seek re-election to the City Council for the next term. Mr A. E. Armstrong, who was returned at the election in 1929 as an Independent Labour candidate, also stated that he is standing again. Ihe Rev L. B. Neale, the third Independent member of the council, who was returned at the by-election caused by the death of Mr J. A. Flesher last yfar*,is leaving for Dunedin in a fortnight s time and consequently will not be a candidate again.
