REV L. B. NEALE AND MRS NEALE FAREWELLED.
On Sunday evening a largely-attend-ed meeting of the congregation of St John’s Methodist Church, reinforced by visitors from Rugby Street, was held at Bryndwr to farewell the Rev L. B. and Mrs Neale. The Rev F. T. Read, who presided, spoke appreciatively of the work carried out by Mr Neale. Other speakers were Mrs W. L. Walker, Messrs J. Sealby, J. Leney, W. Cock, Nicholls, Kennedy and G. Ilight. Mr Neale was the recipient of a wallet. Mrs Neale unveiled an enlarged photograph of Mr Neale, which is displayed in a conspicuous place in the church. Replying on behalf of his wife and himself, Mr Neale said that the erection of the church had not been carried out without strenuous effort. Ill's reward was that they possessed a building which was not only an ornament to the • district, but a credit to the Methodist Church of New Zealand. Supper was provided by the Ladies’ Guild.
