ATHLETES TO COMPETE FOR TITLES TO-MORROW.
Tomorrow’s amateur athletic championships at Lancaster Park should provide one of the most thrilling meetings held here since the war, if one can judge by the preliminary heats : already run off. The 100yds and 220yds should see great runping between. Hart, Cordery, Bullivant, Murphy and Cox, and if the track conditions and weather are favourable. fast times should be recorded.. The* final of the quarter-mile flat should provide wonderful racing and the starters, Harley, Bullivant, Anderson, Blackmore and Suckling, are all in fine fettle, and the time recorded should be a record for the race. All the flat events will- be well contested, and exceptional racing should be witnessed. The first event will start at 2 p.m.
