JOURNALIST ON TOUR OR WORLD.
TRAVELS 62,000 MILES THEN WEDS DUNEDIN GIRL.
Mr Bohumil Pospisil, Czechoslovakian author-journalist, travelled through fifty-two different countries by himself. He reached Dunedin, New Zealand, and left there for Christchurch with a newly-wedded wife, who will henceforth share in his travel experiences in New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, Canada and Alaska, before making a home in Mr Prospisil’s native country of Czechoslovakia. Mr and Mrs Pospisil arrived in Christchurch from the south last night. This journalist from the little country in the centre of Europe has had many adventures in his tour of European and Asiatic countries, which occupied four years. He intends writing a book on New Zealand, with the scenery of which he is charmed. He has visited the Tongariro National Park and other parts of the North Island, but intends making a more intensive study of that island after leaving the south. He has visited the West Coast, seen the Franz Josef glacier and will leave for Mount Cook after about a fortnight’s stay in Christchurch. Mr Pospisil has on many occasions given public lectures on the countries he has visited, and may give a lecture H Christchurch. Speaks Several Languages. Mr Pospisil states that the New Zealand glaciers compare with the best in Switzerland. In the latter country the peaks are not in a mountain chain as in the Dominion.
