Form points to GAY IDEA and SPORTS KING. Miss Albyn In Form. Several recent winners figure in the Parawai Hack Handicap. Big Bertha carries weight well, while Miss Albyn has improved considerably lately, and should go on winning. Snow Prince has only to reproduce his best form to be dangerous. Loving Cup and Currajong are a pair liable to spring a surprise. MISS ALBYN and SNOW PRINCE appeal most. Ruling Chief’s Chances. Ruling Chief has a solid weight in the Waitakaruru Handicap, but he is up to it, and he will have hosts of friends. Lady’s Boy runs a good race now and again, while Royal Ruler is one of whom good things are expected. Branson is not reliable, although his speed is undoubted. Town Bird bobs up at the country meetings, and is due again. Of the others Billikins- and Abbess may do best. SIR RUSSELL and ROYAL RULER will have friends. The Goldfields Cup, Maori Boy is a consistent performer who .will come in for strong support in the Goldfields Cup Handicap. Grand Tea is a form horse, while High Pitch with 7 11 would only have to face up to his best form to be dangerous Cruachan is an improver who will run out the journey well. Antique, Sir Mond and Clopton are capable of good performances, though their chances do not appeal much here. MAORI BOY will be hardest to beat, and most trouble mav come from CRUACHAN.

Patutabi’s Prospects

Several of those in the Borough Handicap have earlier engagements, but Patutahi and First Lap, two recent winners, are fresh horses likely to be in the money. St Ames is a likely sort in view of recent good showings, while Marble King, despite his burden of 10. S. is sure to be in the picture. Snow Prince, if reserved, will run well. It looks like PATUTAHI if SNOW PRINCE does not start. Sub-Editor Likely. Miss Albyn is again engaged in the Puriri Hack Handicap, but the chances are that she will face the starter earlier in the day. Sub-Editor will have hosts of friends in view of his improved showings.
