PORT NEWS

SEAMEN’S INSTITUTE. An enjoyable concert was given at the Seamen’s Institute on Thursday evening. The concert was arranged by Miss M. Hatchwell. Items were contributed by Master Noel Blair (pianoforte solo), Master J. Le Buddi (violin), Misses A. Voyce and M. Hatchwell (solos), Miss May Le Budde and Eileen Minty (recitations), Mr G. E. Jones (mouth organ solo), Messrs P. Marton and Mintey (songs). There was an attendance of about fifty men from the s.s. Raranga. Supper was served at the conclusion of the concert. Kaia Toa Lodge. At the fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Kaia Toa Lodge, N.G. Sister E. Thompson presided over a large attendance of Sisters and members of the Loyal City of Norwich Lodge. One new member was initiated into the Order, business being dispensed with an enjoyable programme and supper was supplied by the married Sisters. Personal. Mr C. F. and Miss D. Bell have returned to Lyttelton after spending a holiday on the West Coast.
