LATE MRS J. HAMILTON.
Mrs Jane Hamilton, of Southbrook, whose death occurred recently Was born in County Tyrone, Ireland, and arrived in Canterbury by the ship Waikato in the year 1877. For three years after her arrival her home was at West Eyreton. Afterwards with her husband the late Mr Hugh Hamilton, she removed to Southbrook, where she spent over fifty years. Mrs Hamilton was much esteemed and held in affectionate regard by a large circle of friends for her kindness, and especially for her sympathetic helpfulness to those sick or in trouble. Her husband predeceased her several years, and she left four sons— 1 Messrs George Hamilton (Christchurch),, William Hamilton (Greymouth), John Hamilton (Wellington) and Robert Hamilton (Lincoln) and two daughters, Mrs A. Bissett and Mrs A. Parlane. The funeral took place to the Church of England Cemetery, Rangiora, and the funeral was attended by a very large gathering of friends. A large number of beautiful wreaths were placed on the grave. _____
