NEW BRIGHTON HOUSE DESTROYED BY FIRE

A five-roomed unoccupied house, known as “Anslev Grove,” at the extreme end of Pine Avenue, South Brighton, was destroyed by fire in the early hours of Sunday morning. The property was owned by Mr E. A. Wilson, land agent, 991, Colombp Street, and was insured with Lloyds for i'3oo. As the house was a long way from the nearest water sump, only sand could be used to fight the flames. The surrounding trees and scrub were set on fire, but this outbreak was kept in hand by the brigade.
