TENDERS CALLED FOR ATLANTIC AIR MAIL.

(United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) WASHINGTON, November 29. Definite steps toward the inauguration of a trans-Atlantic air mail service were taken by the Post Office Department to-day. Tenders have been called, to be opened on December 29, for an air mail route from New York, by Norfolk (Virgina) or Charleston (South Carolina), and then by Hamilton (Bermuda) and the Azores or some other practicable route, to a point in Europe to be designated by the PostmasterGeneral. The return trip is to be made over the same route, and the contract is to run for a ueriod of ten years beginning on June 1 next year.
