BOY INJURED IN FALL FROM HORSE.

(Special to the “Star.”) TIMARU, December 1. A compound fracture of the leg, and head abrasions, were suffered by William Harwood, aged 16, when he fell from a horse at Gleniti last night. He was admitted to hospital. His condition this morning was satisfactory. Reliability Trial. R. 11. Smith (Harley Davidson), with F. Triggs as a passenger, won the 24hour reliability trial of the South Canterbury Motor-Cycle Club. The winner gained the maximum of 1000 points, with J. B. Rogers (8.5. A.) second, 992 points. The third place winners were X. Brebant (Norton) and S. C. Fowler (Indian), each 984 points. The team prize was won by T. Stoddart (11. D.), K. Vincent (Matchless) and H. Graham (8.5. A.), with an aggregate of 2882 points. The route was through Central Otago.
